Joe Zimmerman, President of Summers & Zim’s in Atglen, Pennsylvania, which is about an hour west of Philadelphia.  Summers & Zim’s has been around for nearly 100 years; his grandfathers started it, his dad carried on the tradition, and Joe assumed leadership in his mid-20’s.  The company was successful and small.  It’s in 2011, after his son Ethann expressed interest in becoming the 4th generation, that Joe joined CertainPath, looking for a way to make Summers & Zim’s a professional operation.  And he’s done just that.  The business has grown from $2MM in sales to over $10MM.  And it’s become very profitable.  He’s made so many changes over the years.  The biggest has been getting his pricing right, hiring the right people, implementing systems, and allowing others to lead. Joe exemplifies what it means to be a servant leader.  He truly lives one of Summers & Zim’s core values of being “good natured.”
